How to find your gate
- Main gates have tall minarets above them, so you can see them from far away.
- Remember the number of your gate. A number is easier to find again than a name.
- Meet your group at a gate number you all know.
- In busy seasons some gates are for entry only and some for exit only. Follow the signs and the staff on the day.
- In February 2026 new gate number signs went up in the King Fahd expansion. If a sign is different from this map, follow the sign and tell us.
Hotels by walking time are next
We are adding Makkah hotels sorted by minutes to each gate. Get one email when it goes live.
How we checked the gates
Every gate on this map has its number and name from the Saudi Press Agency or other Saudi sources, and its place from OpenStreetMap.
Some websites and maps still show old numbers. For example, some maps call Umrah Gate number 40 and Al-Fath Gate number 30, but Saudi sources from 2025 say 62 and 45. We left out every gate whose number we could not confirm.
